Adam Cozens is a dynamic outdoor and sports industry leader who has spent the past 18 years scaling modern media brands and overseeing award winning live event properties. At his core, Adam is an innovator and operator with strong business and brand development expertise who thrives inside new ventures and established businesses poised for growth.

He is the former Partner & SVP at Impact Real Life, a boutique live event agency – and the former VP & GM at The Enthusiast Network, a media group focused on serving enthusiasts in the emerging sports, outdoor, and automotive genres. Adam is currently an independent consultant and advisor, working with companies on diverse projects in sports, retail, automotive, media, and events.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Principal: Jan 2021 - Present

    PRPSBLT (purpose built) is the home for project work. Serving clients in the outdoor, media, event, retail, and overlanding sectors.

  • Partner & SVP: Aug 2019 - Jan 2021

    IRL was a boutique live and virtual event agency. Part business incubator, part live event producer, and part studio. We offered our clients a turnkey approach to creating live and virtual event businesses leveraging existing or creating new IP.

    Clients included: Vans, Lionsgate films, Tony Hawk Inc, and Inspire Me! Home Decor.

  • VP & GM, Dew Tour & Experiential Group: Jan 2016 - Aug 2019

    Secured through a long-term license and multi-million dollar investment from PepsiCo - Dew Tour is the leading event and media property in action sports. The property is led by two Olympic sanctioned festivals amplified by a modern “Always On” media and live broadcast strategy delivering engaging daily content.

    Under my leadership, the reimagined property achieved incredible success: winning awards for its content and innovative format, delivered tremendous value for Mountain Dew, attracted endemic and non-endemic commercial partners, and became the most profitable division within TEN: The Enthusiast Network.

  • Senior Marketing Director, Sports & Entertainment Group: Dec 2014 - Dec 2015

    TEN’s Sports and Entertainment Group consisted of 27 media brands such as Surfer, TransWorld, Baseball America, and SLAM.

    Reporting to the CMO of TEN, I oversaw all marketing functions for the group including brand development, strategic partnerships, and integrated campaigns with large clients.

    Under my leadership, we had the single best revenue year for our group highlighted by a partnership with Vimeo, multi-year agreement with PepsiCo, and 7-figure’s of branded content production deals.

  • Director, Action Sports: Sept 2013 - Dec 2014

    Grind Media was formed from the merger of Transworld Media and The Action Sports Group. Creating the worlds largest action sports media group.

    Reporting to the President, I oversaw the sales, marketing, and operations for 7 media brands - their respective staff and a $25M budget.

    Under my leadership, we were able to navigate a tricky merger through transparency, collaboration, and cross brand strategy - that resulted in my group exceeding their digital and experiential revenue goals.

  • Director, Sales & Marketing: June 2012 - Sept 2013

    Transworld Media was the leading action sports digital media publisher founded in 1983.

    Reporting to the President I was responsible for the entire group’s revenue goals, marketing functions, and the teams associated.

    Under my leadership we had a keen focus on diversifying revenue and saw tremendous growth across digital, video, and experiential. I also co-founded and internal creative agency, Physics.
